well since IDS aren't going to be a wintersday-exclusive event, I figured i'd help lower prices some more and help out some of the people wanting to get icy dragon swords.

want an IDS? have an 55monk? then you can do this farm.

i don't show the run through Tasca's nor through Mineral Springs to get to the ice caves... but i'm sure you can figure it out. by the way, i wait for the bridge patrols in Tasca's, and I take the southern path in Mineral Springs:

The only thing you may have to worry about in the run through Mineral Springs is Guiles and their strip enchant... just make sure to cover Protective Spirit well... and lots of candy canes...

some notes:
i lagged a little bit in Tasca's... where i ended up below the bridge. Usually that doesn't happen.

the part after the bridge where I pause and go back a little... was trying to build up adrenaline for Rush. however if you die close enough to the respawn portal you can sneak by the patrol and get into Mineral Springs.

running past avicara non-guiles: PS + HB will be enough.
running past avicara guiles: PS covered by HB and veil should be ok.
running past Nhy Darkclaw spawn: there are 2 enchant strippers, just make sure your PS is well covered.
running past Hyl Thunderwing spawn: PS covered by Holy Veil then covered by Healing Breeze should suffice. Just remember to remove Veil after Iron Mist hits and you're home free.

ya i tried .. n got myself near caves in about 10 mins
but maelstorm by imps owned me.. it kept interuptin soj.. was only ablye to kill 3 imps that to with help of an wand..
this build is great.. holy veil rocks ^^

how do u avoid maelstorm? i tried to move n then cast soj it ddnt worked either

ya thats wut im seeing they never casted maelstorm... cuz u cant do anything when maelstorm is around you, especially 2-3 of em

you just have to make sure that your aggro bubble never touches theirs. you can do this by wanding one and backing up, or using a bow. if they aren't in spellcasting range, they'll just simply wand you and trigger SOJ. no maelstroms to worry about... and at most 1 or 2.

if you aggro too many, just sprint/rush away and try again.

Lol you finally posted it. the trick to running in tasca's demise is to know how to run the route. if u see that you are going to die at the last portion of the tasca's demise, switch ur icon to a diffent one - u'd now have 105 health. When u respawn u got around 2 sec of invulnerablity to run off to the portal.

Oh yes. The challenge of this build is actually NOT the imps but getting to the imps. The build takes around 2 SoJ to kill off a whole big mob. Moreover if u do take the southern route, the giants are also farmable with this build. The only thing u got to be careful about is the Thunderwing - Only that boss would screw u big time.

To get out of maelstorm - watch when the maelstorms are dropping and run to a new area and cast SoJ. Do this if u have a troll chasing u as well, it minimizes disruption.

Yeah... but what are the chances you'll sustain merely 8 attacks in less than the time it takes to regenerate 7 health with 10 health regeneration? very little

i've sat there with 4 avicara fierce pummeling me with dual shot + ignite arrows on a 8hp setup, and that has never happened to me. but good suggestion nevertheless
